These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Kiwi Alarms LLC ("Kiwi Alarms," "we," "us," or "our"), a Nevada limited liability company located at 5150 Mae Ann Ave, Suite 405, Reno, NV 89523. By using our website, requesting a quote, booking a consultation, opting in to text messages, or purchasing services from us, you agree to these Terms. If you sign a separate written service or monitoring agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs from these Terms.
1. Who we are and what we do
Kiwi Alarms LLC is a locally owned security company serving Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and the surrounding Northern Nevada and Northern California area. We design, sell, install, and service home and business security alarm systems, security cameras, video doorbells, smart-home devices, and we provide TV-mounting services. Our owner, Scott Ferguson, personally performs installations and service work. Professional alarm monitoring is provided through a licensed third-party monitoring center.
2. Quotes and pricing
- Quotes — whether built on our website, prepared in person, or sent by email or text — are estimates based on the information available at the time. Final pricing is confirmed once we have assessed the property and the equipment needed.
- A quote is valid for the period stated on it (typically 30 days). After that, prices may change.
- Approving a quote online, by signature, or by asking us to schedule the work tells us you would like to proceed. A binding order forms when we confirm the installation date.
- Promotional offers are subject to the conditions stated with the offer and may be withdrawn at any time before an order is confirmed.
3. Consultations, scheduling, and access
- Consultations are free and carry no obligation.
- Please give us at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule an installation or service visit. Repeated missed appointments without notice may incur a trip charge, which we will tell you about in advance.
- You agree to provide safe access to the property, to the areas where equipment will be installed, and to power and internet connections where the system needs them. A person aged 18 or older must be present during installation.
- If you are a renter, you are responsible for obtaining any permission your landlord requires for installation.
4. Equipment and ownership
- You own the equipment you buy from us outright from the day it is paid for. We do not finance equipment through your monitoring fee, and we do not retain ownership of installed hardware.
- Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We will help you with warranty claims for equipment we supplied.
- Some features (for example remote app control, video storage, or smart-home integrations) depend on the manufacturer's cloud platform and on your internet service, which we do not control.
- Because you own your equipment, you may switch monitoring providers in the future. Some equipment may need to be reprogrammed to do so.
5. Alarm monitoring
- 24/7 professional monitoring is provided through a licensed third-party monitoring center. The monitoring service is governed by the monitoring agreement you sign at installation, including its term, monthly rate, and cancellation provisions. Please read it; it controls over these Terms for monitoring matters.
- Monitoring depends on working communication paths (cellular and/or internet). Outages, carrier issues, or power loss beyond our control can interrupt monitoring.
- You are responsible for keeping your emergency contact list and passcode current, testing your system as recommended, and telling us promptly about any fault.
- Kiwi Alarms and the monitoring center are not insurers. A security system reduces risk; it cannot guarantee that a loss, injury, or crime will not occur. You should maintain appropriate property and liability insurance.
6. Payment
- Payment for equipment and installation is due as stated on your quote or invoice — typically on completion of the installation unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
- We accept the payment methods shown on your invoice. Card payments are processed securely by our payment processor.
- Monitoring fees are billed as set out in your monitoring agreement.
- Invoices unpaid past their due date may be subject to a late fee as permitted by Nevada law, and we may suspend service on the account until it is brought current.
7. Workmanship warranty and service
We stand behind our installation work. If a problem is caused by our workmanship, tell us and we will correct it at no charge for a period of one year from installation. This workmanship warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, alteration by others, power surges, pests, weather, or normal wear of consumables such as batteries. Service visits outside the warranty are charged at our then-current rates, which we will quote before the work.
8. Permits and false alarms
Many jurisdictions, including the City of Reno and the City of Sparks, require a permit for a monitored alarm system. We will help you register or transfer your permit, but the permit, its renewal, and any fees are your responsibility as the system owner. False-alarm fines imposed by a city or county are likewise the responsibility of the system owner. We will show you how to operate your system to avoid them.
9. Text messaging (SMS) terms
If you opt in to receive text messages from Kiwi Alarms LLC, the following terms apply:

Our full text-messaging program description is on our SMS opt-in and consent page.
10. Use of our website
- The content on kiwialarms.com — text, photos, guides, and design — belongs to Kiwi Alarms LLC or is used with permission. You may read and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes; please do not copy it for commercial use without asking.
- Our articles and guides about home security are general information, not professional security, legal, or insurance advice for your specific situation. Every property is different; talk to us for a recommendation.
- Please use our forms and quote tool honestly and do not submit false information, spam, or automated requests.
- Links to third-party sites (for example manufacturers or the monitoring center) are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nevada law, Kiwi Alarms LLC's total liability for any claim arising from our services or this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including losses that a security system was intended to help prevent, except where such a limitation is not permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. If a dispute arises, please contact Scott first — most issues can be sorted out with a conversation. If we cannot resolve it, disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Washoe County, Nevada.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always posted at this address with its effective date. Continued use of our website or services after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
