Scott moved to Reno in 2005, originally from New Zealand, and started working in the alarm industry the following year. Over nearly two decades he installed systems for national companies, regional dealers, and everything in between — enough of it to know exactly which parts of the industry frustrate homeowners.
In 2024, he started Kiwi Alarms to do things differently: no subcontractors, no call center, no rotating install crews. If you call Kiwi Alarms, you're talking to the person who designs your system and the same person who shows up to install it.
The name is a nod to home — "Kiwi" for New Zealand, and "Security with Zest" for the approach: straightforward, personal, and not interested in high-pressure sales tactics.
